I’m speechless Corena. This was so powerful and touched my heart so much that I could not avoid my tears. The pleas that George Floyd cried will forever be imbedded in my mind. I cry every time I hear them. It is so true…OUR silence serves no one. Thankyou Corena for helping me to take a look at my own silence. ❤️

It's not easy to confront the fear of speaking up (which implicitly condones)... or the feeling of fear and shame that erupts inside that comes from being silent (in order to not ruffle any (white) feathers). I think your excerpt brings it all into the open. How we all, in our own way, confronted with deciding for ourselves what our silence is worth to us and who exactly, our silence serves.
